Learn to surf in the Algarve, Portugal
Wild beaches straight out of a dream, sunshine every day, stunning nature and amazing quality surf makes Portugal a a thrilling destination for anyone who wants to learn how to surf.
The western Algarve is the least developed region in Portugal. It is a beautiful and protected nature reserve offering sun drenched beaches with wild coastlines and Europe's southwestern most point, Cabo de São Vicente (Cape St Vincent). The perfect place to relax and learn to surf or fine tune your surfing technique.
Renowned for some of the best waves in Europe, Portugal’s geography means that virtually its entire coastline has become a surfing mecca for both beginners and pros. Everyone has their favourite place, but the beaches around Sagres, in the western Algarve region, are arguably amongst the best in the country.
Some of the best surfing beaches around Sagres are Praia do Tonel, Praia do Beliche, Praia do Telheiro and Mareta, south of Sagres.
